Classic Painting Reproductions of Readers

Literature and art go together, both stemming from creativity and arduous work. Works of art that convey thought, feeling, and representations of the time. While readers are often inspired by art, visual artists are also inspired by readers.

We found these classic paintings depicting readers and book lovers that are hand-reproduced in oil by artists from 1st Art Gallery. Have your very own classic reproduction or gift one to your favorite bibliophile!

Our chosen favorites shown to the right and below:

The Bookworm by Carl Spitzweg (1857)
A Little Schoolgirl by Meyer Georg von Bremen (~1850)
The Reading Lesson by Knut Ekvall (~1880)
A Young Girl Reading by Jean-Honore Fragonard (1776)
Young Maiden Reading a Book by Pierre Auguste Cot

Why we love it

These are real paintings with the option of framing. Real oil reproductions with all the texture of the real thing which have so much more appeal than simple posters.
